Help with planning and using your Bucharest rental

Updated: September 30, 2026 · Vrenty Car

Find the next useful step for a common rental question. Vrenty Car provides comparison and planning information, with booking through Localrent and the vehicle supplied by the selected rental company. For an existing reservation, have the voucher ready: its reference and supplier details let the relevant provider answer your particular case rather than a general rental question.

I do not know whether to rent for the whole stay

List the journeys for which a car will help and the days when it would stay parked. Then compare two complete plans: a rental throughout the visit, or a later collection for the driving days. Include overnight parking, airport transport and the effort of reaching a collection point. This usually makes the choice clearer than comparing daily rates alone.

A central stay followed by a road trip may favour later collection, while accommodation outside the centre or repeated family visits may make a continuous rental useful. Check Bucharest car rental for both realistic date combinations and use the city driving and parking guide to assess the practical cost of keeping the car.

My flight says Bucharest, but which airport should I choose?

Open the detailed flight confirmation and look for the airport code. OTP identifies Henri Coanda at Otopeni; BBU identifies Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu. Check both the inbound and outbound flight, because the airports need not match. Do not select a rental location from a city name or the airport you used on a previous trip.

If the rental confirmation names the wrong airport, contact the booking provider before travel. Ask whether the location can be changed and what happens to price and collection instructions. The OTP versus BBU guide explains the difference. Treat an airport change as a new ground-travel arrangement rather than a small terminal adjustment.

Which licence and identification should I bring?

Check the selected offer's requirements for the main driver and each additional driver. Bring the required original licence and identification, and clarify any translation or international permit question according to the issuing country and document type. Supplier age and experience conditions can also affect eligibility even when the licence itself is valid.

If you are unsure, ask before booking and describe the document accurately without sending unnecessary sensitive copies. A phone photograph should not be assumed to replace an original required at pickup. Keep your voucher and written clarification available offline, and make sure the named driver will attend with the accepted payment method.

I can pay online, but I do not have a credit card

Check the pickup conditions separately from the online payment. Ask what the supplier accepts for the remaining balance and any security deposit, whether a physical card is needed and whose name must appear on it. A successful advance payment does not prove that the collection requirements are satisfied.

State explicitly that you will not present a credit card if that is your situation. Ask about your particular debit or cash arrangement rather than a general alternative-payment label. The without-credit-card guide provides a full checklist. If the selected offer is unsuitable, resolve the reservation before travelling instead of relying on an exception at the desk.

The offer says no deposit: what money do I still need?

Look for the advance paid at booking, the remaining rental balance and any selected extras. Those are price payments and can still apply when no security deposit is required. Then read the excess and protection conditions separately. A zero deposit does not establish zero responsibility for every event or charge.

The no-deposit guide helps separate these amounts. Ask whether the stated condition depends on a particular package, driver or payment method and confirm it in the final booking. Keep sufficient funds for the agreed balance and normal trip expenses even if no security amount is held at collection.

How do I know what the protection actually covers?

Read the coverage, excess, exclusions and incident procedure associated with the offer. Ask about an example that matters to your trip, such as a tyre problem or glass damage, and request an explanation of what you would need to do and potentially pay. A broad label is less useful than a clear description of a specific situation.

Establish whether the product reduces liability with the supplier or reimburses eligible costs after you pay them. This affects the money and documents you may need during a claim. Keep the applicable terms with your booking and do not assume a separate travel policy or card benefit matches the supplier's protection arrangement.

My flight is late or I cannot find the representative

Use the verified supplier contact in your voucher. Send your reference, the correct airport code and a precise update, such as the revised landing time or your current meeting location. Ask for acknowledgement of any changed appointment and whether it affects the arrangement or price. Entering a flight number does not guarantee unlimited waiting.

If you have arrived, stay at a safe, recognisable public location while clarifying the meeting point. Avoid moving between several exits without agreement. Follow airport staff instructions if access has changed. The Otopeni collection guide explains the arrival sequence, and Localrent's official contact page is the verified route for its booking support when needed.

The car at pickup is different from the one expected

Compare the booking description with the offered vehicle and ask the supplier to explain the difference. Check the essentials: transmission, passenger capacity, luggage space, child seats and any feature agreed in writing. Determine whether you booked a particular vehicle or a category and read the applicable substitution conditions.

Review the financial conditions as well, including deposit and protection, before accepting revised paperwork. If the car cannot meet an essential requirement, contact the supplier and booking provider to discuss the available solution. Keep the exchange factual and documented. Do not assume the replacement is acceptable solely because it is described as a higher category.

There is damage before I start driving

Ask for the existing marks to be recorded on the condition report and photograph them clearly. Include wider views that show which part of the car is involved, not only close-ups with no context. Check wheels, bumpers, glass and the interior, along with fuel or battery level and mileage.

If lighting makes inspection difficult, ask for a better position or suitable light. Read the report before signing and keep a copy. The same inspection is useful for a no-deposit rental because the agreement can still contain obligations. If something affects safe use rather than appearance, ask the supplier to address it before leaving.

Can someone else drive or can we cross a border?

An additional driver should be approved and recorded through the supplier's process, with the required documents and any applicable fee. A travelling companion is not authorised merely by sitting in the passenger seat or holding a suitable licence. If the original driver becomes unable to continue, arrange a safe alternative and contact the supplier.

For cross-border travel, request permission for the specific countries and dates and ask about documents, protection and assistance. Schengen travel arrangements for people do not establish permission for a hired vehicle. Keep the accepted arrangement with the contract and do not treat a general statement about European travel as approval for your itinerary.

What should I check for a trip to Brasov or Sinaia?

Estimate the full return mileage, confirm suitable equipment and ask about relevant road-charge coverage. Check current traffic and weather, then allow time for breaks and parking. For Brasov by car, consider whether an overnight stay makes the return more comfortable instead of fitting every stop into one long day.

For Sinaia and Peles, check the museum's actual opening and ticket arrangements before setting the road schedule. A visit includes the approach from parking as well as time inside. Avoid connecting the fastest possible road estimate directly to a fixed visit or flight without an independent margin.

A parking payment did not confirm, or I received a notice

Check the sign for the exact parking operator and verify the vehicle registration, location and duration you entered. If payment did not confirm, use another authorised method or move to a legal alternative where you can pay. Do not assume an attempted SMS or application request proves the stay has been paid for.

For a notice, save the document, photographs of relevant signs and your payment evidence. Follow the issuing organisation's stated process and ask the rental supplier how such matters are handled under the agreement. A supplier administration charge can be a separate issue from the underlying parking matter, so request an itemised explanation if the distinction is unclear.

I need to change dates, cancel or keep the car longer

Use the designated booking or supplier channel and ask for the consequences before accepting a change. Availability, price and cancellation conditions can be affected. Include the current booking details and the exact change requested. Keep the acknowledgement and revised confirmation rather than relying on a sent message as proof of agreement.

For an extension, contact the supplier before the original return time and check the revised price, mileage, protection and return procedure. For cancellation, follow the applicable notice process and retain the result. The booking policy guide explains the points to review without promising a universal refund or grace period.

I paid, but cannot find a booking confirmation

Check the email address used for the reservation and your spam folder, then review the booking provider's stated confirmation process. Look at the bank transaction status without assuming that a pending amount proves the reservation is confirmed. Avoid making a second booking until you have clarified the first attempt, particularly if the same dates and car are involved.

Contact the verified booking support channel with the approximate transaction time, intended rental dates and the information needed to locate the attempt. Share a relevant payment reference through the appropriate process, not full card credentials. Ask whether a reservation exists, whether any payment completed and what action is needed next. Once the status is clear, save the confirmation or cancellation response so you can distinguish this attempt from any replacement booking made afterwards.

How do I finish the rental and follow up on security funds?

Return to the agreed location with the required fuel or battery level and allow time for inspection. Take condition and gauge photographs, remove belongings and personal phone pairing, and keep the return record. For an unattended handover, obtain and follow written parking and key instructions in advance.

Ask what release or refund action applies to any security funds and request the relevant evidence. If the supplier has completed its step but the available balance has not changed, your bank can explain its processing using the transaction details. If money is retained, ask for an itemised reason and supporting records before assessing the issue.

Questions & answers

Where is Vrenty Car's airport office?

Vrenty Car does not operate an airport office or fleet. It is an independent affiliate comparison and editorial site. Follow the supplier's confirmed meeting or office instructions in your voucher for the actual vehicle handover.

Is a photographed driving licence enough?

Do not assume so. Bring the original documents required by your selected offer and clarify any unusual document situation before booking. A copy is useful for personal reference but does not establish acceptance at collection.

Does returning early automatically produce a refund?

Do not assume it. Ask about the applicable terms before changing the return and get any agreed adjustment confirmed. Returning the car earlier and changing the price are separate questions that need a specific answer.

Should I refuel before returning?

Follow the fuel policy in your agreement, or the charging requirement for an electric vehicle. Check the recorded starting level and the required return level. Keep a relevant receipt and photograph the gauge at handover rather than assuming every rental uses the same policy.

What should I send when asking for help?

Start with the booking reference, your name, relevant dates and a concise description of the result you need. Add only relevant evidence through a verified channel. Never send banking passwords, card security codes or one-time authentication codes in an ordinary support message.

Where can I find current booking support?

Use Localrent's official contact page and the supplier details in your voucher. The contact guide explains which route suits the question. Avoid copying contact details from an unverified message or an unrelated rental listing.
